Some 182 crafters to join PKB

Denpasar - As many as 182 enterprises, crafters, small and home industries are going to participate in the 27th Bali Arts Festival (June 18 to July 16). Those joiners were the result of a quite tight selection conducted by the organizing committee by considering the aspect of distribution as those interested to participate, reached 353 enterprises and crafters, said the chair of the organizing committee, Ir Wayan Subagiarta, here on Sunday.
He said further that those crafters and enterprises came from Bali’s eight regencies and municipality. The other participants are from outside Bali and Thailand is the only foreign country to take part in exhibiting small industries’ products.
The participants from other provinces and foreign country will all have booths under the Ksirarnawa building of Art Center Denpasar.
Subagiarta explained that besides the exhibitions by the small enterprises there would be also fine arts exhibition, expected able to encourage artists to be more creative and promote the artists’ works.
The fine arts exhibition will display paintings, statues, and other works of local artists. It is among one of the agendas of the annual PKB.
The other four in the agendas, among others, are a cultural parade, art performances, workshops, and competitions, involving thousands of artists in all.
Specific for the art performances during the PKB, there will be as many as 132 performances, including those involving art troupes of 17 provinces/regencies across Indonesia and nine foreign art teams. *pry/ant

ARTISTIC PRODUCTS-In addition to seeing arts, the guests to the Bali Arts Festival can also see products of small enterprises from within and outside Bali.
